PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To act as Regional Lead Nurse within the Southern region, providing day to day clinical support and guidance to all clinic staff and head office when needed. To lead through example and foster a clinical culture of best standards and current practice and not merely national standards as detailed by The Care Quality Commission

It is essential that the candidate has the following experience:

At least 1 year within a leadership/management role

Relevant private healthcare experience

Background in clinic and pre-assessment nursing

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To act as a support network to all clinic nurses within the region

Ensure the clinic is complying with the CQC requirements and fundamental standards.

Ensure the clinic adheres to national legislation such as the Health and Social Care Act and the Health and Safety at Work Act and take action where standards are not in place.

To be directly responsible for the induction of all new clinic nurses within the region, following clinic induction process.

To ensure that new clinic nurses are trained and assessed as being proficient in all aspects of pre and post-operative clinical patient care using the competency booklet and induction programme.

To assist in the organisation and delivery of mandatory training for all nursing staff in the Southern area.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

The Registered Nurse is expected to be fully conversant with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and associated national guidelines and abide by their guidance.

Take responsibility for personal and professional updating and development, including mandatory training.

Regularly assess and evaluate practice by audit and implement change in a participative manner with nursing/business colleagues.

Maintain professional contemporaneous records at all times.

Participate in personal development review.

Maintain a high standard of personal behaviour and ensure effective communication with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, patients and relatives.
